Pachyphytum compactum
Tuesday, 22 December 2009
Somebody told me this guy was a slow grower. My arse. He is very delicate, and if you so much as breath on him he'll drop a leaf. As a result I have about six individual plants now. The oldest of which are flowering again.

Labels: Crassulaceae, flowers, Pachyphytum

The leaf dropping thing is a common fault to the Pachyphytum, and Pachyveria too. I guess you just have to put them where they'll never get accidentally bumped, or pay the price - getting over run with them!

I had one of these a few years ago. I guess it was a touch to fragile for me. I think it died in under a a month. I lost confidence every time it dropped a leaf or lost a bud. Then RIP... maybe I'll give it another shot this spring. those little flowers are so pretty.
